Crocus Ruby Giant is bold and beautiful with rich purple flowers. It is a sturdy little crocus, dealing with the weather well, and, being a tommasinianus cultivar, it will bloom quite early in spring making it a great early pollen source for bees. Ruby Giant will self seed and spread and is one of the best crocus varieties if you are looking to plant them to naturalise in grass.

Plant crocus bulbs from September to December, 8-10cm deep, in a well-drained and sunny situation. Bulbs can be planted in clusters and will grow into naturalistic drifts. If planted in grass it is best to delay mowing until leaves die back.
